Por incumplimiento con los deberes comunitarios que atribuye la corona de reina en Miss Latina Wine Country, la dirección del certamen de belleza decidió quitarle el título a Edith Loza y transferirlo a Vanessa Estrella, de 24 años, quien había sido nombrada primera princesa en el certamen celebrado el año pasado en el Graton Casino, de Rohnert Park.

“Loza no continuará representando a Miss Latina Wine Country, por el incumplimiento de responsabilidades como reina, que es voluntariamente aportar a la comunidad en eventos comunitarios, sociales y culturales, los cuales son compromiso de una reina”, escribió a La Prensa Sonoma la directora general del certamen, Crystal Rangel.

Estrella, nacida en Chicago, de padres mexicanos procedentes de Jalisco, y residente desde hace 10 años en Santa Rosa, confesó que fue una complicada decisión asumir el título de reina, y relevar a su amiga.

“Fue difícil, Edith y yo nos hicimos buenas amigas durante el proceso del certamen. Así que cuando pasó esto, tenía la opción de tomarlo o no. Lo pensé muy bien, porque no quería lastimarla, pero ella me apoyó. Ella me pidió que tomara la corona”, contó Estrella en actividad comunitaria celebrada en la escuela de Roseland, donde portaba la reluciente corona y la cinta colgada sobre el pecho que la identificaba como reina.

Además de ayudarla a superar su timidez, esta oportunidad le ha dado impulso en su carrera de modelaje, dijo Estrella, pues está en charlas con agentes que la ayudarán a perseverar en su trayectoria hacia comerciales y promocionales, como imagen de compañías, productos y servicios.

“El mundo del entretenimiento me interesa, pero también quiero ser un ejemplo para las muchachas. Decirles que se escuchen a sí mismas y que crean en sí mismas. Que hagan lo que nunca pensaron hacer; salir de su zona de comodidad. A mí me ha costado, porque soy tímida, pero si quiero estar en el modelaje, tengo que salir de mi propio espacio. Finalmente, tienes que hacer lo que te hace feliz”, dijo con seguridad, mientras desde el fondo del gimnasio escolar de Roseland sonaba ‘El toro relajo’, en la voz de Linda Rondstat.

Vanessa Estrella Is Sonoma County’s New Miss Latina Wine Country
