Raízes Collective abrirá su primer espacio físico en abril
La organización que lidera Isabel López, Raízes Collective,
“Estamos muy contentos con este nuevo espacio, porque es un lugar donde podremos tener nuestros programas, y otros nuevos que estamos planeando, como jardinería y medicinas ancestrales", dijo López. "No teníamos espacio propio y no podíamos tener consistencia con nuestros eventos, pero con esto podremos tener actividades entre semana y el fin de semana”, añadió la directora ejecutiva de la organización.
El lugar estará ubicado en el 3840 Finley Avenue, casi en las orillas del sudoeste de Santa Rosa, y será abierto al público durante el Día de la Tierra.
“Hemos empezado nuestras sesiones de poesía, de escritura creativa. Vamos a continuar con exposiciones de arte, y vamos a empezar a traer música y medicinas naturales”, explicó López, con notable emoción.
Dijo que el gerente del edificio atendió uno de sus programas artísticos y estuvo interesado en llevar las actividades culturales de Raízes Collective al inmueble. “Fue una oferta que no pudimos rechazar”, advirtió López, quien está por cumplir dos años en junio con esta organización.
Informó que las sesiones de yoga seguirán en el Centro Comunitario de Roseland, donde había realizado sus actividades en los meses recientes. “La gente ya se acostumbró a ir ahí, así que eso lo vamos a mantener”, agregó.
“Este será un lugar donde podremos reunirnos como colectivo, como comunidad, y hacer más por nuestra gente”, señaló López.

Raizes Collective opens it's first physical location in April
The organization lead by Isabel Lopez, Raizes Collective, will open its first physical location, open to the public, on the 22nd of April, with an artistic exhibit, integrating the cultural collective of Santa Rosa.
Raizes Collective seeks to empower and mobilize the community through the arts, culture, and environmental education.
“We are very happy with our new space, because this is where we can have all our current programs, including others that we are planning to add, like gardening and ancestral medicine”, said Lopez. “We previously lacked our own space and we were unable to have consistency with our events, but now we can have activities during the week and on the weekends”, added the executive director of the organization.
The new location will be on 3840 Finley Avenue, almost on the outskirts of southeastern Santa Rosa, and will be opening to the public on Earth Day.
“We have begun our sessions for poetry and creative writing. We will continue with art expositions, and we will begin to bring music and natural medicines”, explained Lopez.
She said that the person in charge of the building attended one of their art lessons and was interested in giving the Raizes Collective, a brick and mortar location. “It was an offer we couldn’t refuse”, commented Lopez, who is about to hit the two year mark in June with this organization.
She informs us that the yoga sessions with continue in the Roseland Community Center, where they had been taking place in the recent months. “People are used to coming here, so we will continue the yoga events in Roseland”, she adds.
This will be a place where we can reunite as a collective, like a community, and do more for our people, said Lopez.
