Marcha por una reforma migratoria irrumpe en el centro de Santa Rosa

Una multitud integrada por estudiantes, maestros, padres y organizadores comunitarios unieron fuerzas al mediodía del lunes 5 de marzo cuando comenzaron una huelga por una reforma migratoria integral, que comenzó en Santa Rosa Junior College, llegó al centro de la ciudad y después procedió a un edficio administrativo federal.

"Estoy aquí para expresar nuestros derechos y mostrar que somos más que inmigrantes y tenemos voz", dijo Nadia, una estudiante de Montgomery High School, en los jardines frontales de SRJC.

La marcha que arrancó poco después del mediodía, continuó hasta el edificio federal Shea, en el 777 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa, donde los organizadores dejaron un documento firmado con peticiones a la administración federal, entre ellas la reforma migratoria integral, la permanencia de DACA y la renovación de TPS.

A crowd of students, teachers, parents and community organizers joined forces at noon on Monday for a walkout demanding a "clean immigration reform", starting at Santa Rosa Junior College all the way to an administrative federal building, before making a brief stop at the Old Courthouse Square.

"I'm here to express our rights and show that we are more than immigrants and we have a voice," said Nadia, a student at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa.

The rally started shortly after noon and continued to the Shea Federal building, at 777 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa, where the organizers left a signed document with petitions such as a comprehensive immigration reform, the permanence of DACA and the renewal of TPS.
